Pork Storks prides itself in boar selection to support ongoing genetic improvement in client herds. We strictly follow EBV recommendations from associated genetics companies to ensure maximum value from each animal’s progeny. In addition to EBVs, physical traits like structure and teat count are measured to improve gilt performance. Every client’s operation is unique, so we collaborate closely to align genetics with herd goals.
Ironclad Biosecurity
Pork Storks enforces gold-standard biosecurity across all facilities. We consult with industry experts and constantly update protocols to stay ahead of threats. Boars are PCR tested every collection day for PRRS, PED, Delta Coronavirus, and TGE. Semen is held until results are confirmed negative across four trusted labs, including an internal lab.
Entry protocols for people, vehicles, and materials involve a strict seven-day quarantine. Positive-pressure air systems and filtration further reduce airborne disease risk.
Unparalleled Quality Assurance
Each stud follows a meticulous process — from initial semen motility and morphology checks, to acrosome integrity and 4-day post-collection monitoring. Pork Storks also partners with an external lab (RVRC) to monitor sperm count, bacterial presence, morphology, and other factors that affect breeding success. This daily oversight helps catch issues before they impact your bottom line.
Semen Transport
From collection to delivery, semen is managed under strict quality standards. Packaging, handling, and transport procedures are designed to preserve the integrity of each dose. All temperature controls and timelines are monitored to ensure the semen that arrives is as effective as when it left the stud.
